Utility Integration Solutions (UISOL) to Present on Meter Data Management at Autovation 2008

Atlanta, GA – September 8, 2008— Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. (UISOL) announced today that Vice President Mark Day will be representing UISOL at Autovation 2008: The Utilimetrics International Symposium. Day will present a paper on Tuesday, September 9th with Jim Jones, VP and CIO of Great River Energy (GRE).

The presentation,MDM- An Essential Tool to Leverage AMI Value? examines the use of a Meter Data Management (MDM) system to potentially optimize AMI value and capabilities. The paper is based on a collaborative study performed by UISOL, Great River Energy and a team of member distribution cooperatives that included Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative, Lake Country Power, Connexus Energy, and East Central Energy.

The paper explores implementation considerations such as organization change enablement and business process redesign as well as an examination of the benefits of implementing an MDM solution in advance of AMI deployment.

Day said, “Smaller utilities need relevant strategies to effectively change and adapt to the demands of today’s dynamic marketplace. By taking a progressive look at the industry, the study has established a business case for MDM as a valuable tool to fully realize the potential of an AMI system.”

While meter data management systems have typically been reserved for larger utilities, this presentation will shed light on the ways in which distribution and generation & transmission cooperative utilities can utilize a collaborative approach to cost effectively implement an MDM solution.

Autovation 2008, presented by Utilimetrics, provides utilities with information about innovative AMR/AMI technologies that lead to improved operations, customer service and resource utilization. This year’s event will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center on September 7-10.
