Utility Integration Solutions (UISOL) CEO Ali Vojdani to Present on Demand Response at Canadian Utility Industry Events
Lafayette, CA – October 1, 2008— Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. (UISOL) announced today that CEO Ali Vojdani will be representing UISOL at two upcoming utility industry events in Canada. Vojdani will be presenting a paper on utility integration strategies at the IEEE Electrical Power & Energy Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 7th and a paper on demand response (DR) integration at the EUCI Demand Response and Energy Efficiency Conference in Toronto, Ontario on October 9th.
Ali Vojdani, Ph.D., is an expert in applying integration and business process management to the unique challenges of the utility industry. UISOL’s team and industry efforts towards enabling integrated Demand Response (DR) have resulted in the development of UISOL’s DRBizNet solution. DRBizNet integrates the demand response business network for utility industry stakeholders including utilities, market participants and operators.
Vojdani’s presentations will focus on the characteristics of a flexible Intelligent Grid integration framework that effectively leverages demand response and distributed generation for utilities and system operators alike. Vojdani said, “Paired with effective rate design and the right policy incentives, demand response and distributed energy resources offer significant and potentially transformational value for the utility industry.”
At the IEEE conference Vojdani will present Integration Challenges of the Intelligent Grid—Enterprise Integration of Demand Response and Meter Data, which examines effective methods for integrating demand response, including how utilities, ISOs, and service providers are currently integrating and managing demand response and meter data.
Vojdani’s presentation at the EUCI DR conference, Integrating the DR Business Network, will take an in-depth look at the dynamic nature of demand response programs and the challenges associated with management of DR business processes.
Vojdani concluded, “The full promise of distributed energy resources will be available to utilities who deploy the required flexibility in enterprise IT architecture and business processes. UISOL has a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and challenges of demand response programs. Meeting these challenges as an industry will not be easy, but it will be well worth it.”
UISOL is a Gold Sponsor of this year’s EUCI conference, which is being held October 9-10 at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto, Ontario. The conference will provide utilities with information about energy efficiency and demand response programs with detailed presentations of best practices, access to industry experts, and extended opportunities for education and networking. The 8th annual Electrical Power & Energy Conference, sponsored by IEEE Canada, will take place in Vancouver, BC October 6-7 at The Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside. Focusing on the theme of Energy Innovation, the forum will highlight current activities and achievements as well as investigate the future progression and expansion of both the local and global electrical power and energy industries.
