Siri Varadan, P.E., Vice President, Asset Management Solutions

Dr. Siri Varadan leads UISOL’s asset management practice, helping clients — including large IOUs, system operators, government agencies and municipalities in the US and abroad — to optimize assets to achieve reliability and performance targets. Siri brings a holistic approach to asset management, rooted in a deep understanding of the IT, operational, and business needs of electric power utilities. He has over twenty years experience in all aspects of the asset management cycle, including planning, operations and performance measurement for electric transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. Past employers include ABB, Nexant, and DNV KEMA. At the latter, he led the asset management practice and held executive responsibility for business in South America. He is a seasoned project manager and an expert in energy management systems (EMS), distribution management systems (DMS) and outage management systems (OMS).

Siri earned Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Clemson University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. Siri is a senior member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society and a member of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM). He has held many official IEEE-PES positions and was honored with the outstanding chapter chair award for his leadership of the San Francisco chapter. He is a registered professional engineer licensed by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
